She graduated from Alliance Bible Seminary and received her Masters in Clinical Psychology at Azusa Pacific University and Alliant International University (AIU). She received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at AIU with an emphasis in multicultural community clinical psychology. Emily first came to California as a high school student from Hong Kong. She studied Management and Marketing in college and eventually earned an MBA degree from National University. Emily is married with two daughters and has always been actively involved in her kids’ lives by being a soccer mom, band mom, room parent, and parent volunteer for various school events for the past 18 years. She serves as a praise team member, sermon interpreter, Bible study teacher, and Sunday school principal at her home church. Her favorite Bible verse is Romans 8:28, and she loves BSF (Bible Study Fellowship), singing, baking, and drama acting.
Wicy graduated from Cal State Fullerton with a B.A. in Communications where she concentrated more on photocommunications. She started out as a volunteer helping out with RE:NEW and is currently the assistant ministry coordinator and assisting with photography, film, and social media here at Presence. She enjoys music and serves at her church as a worship leader. On her free time, she enjoys the beach, journaling, photographing, hanging out with her brother & friends, exploring, and loves to sleep.
Before becoming a full-time staff of Presence in 2012, Joanne worked in a variety of fields including, advertising, media, marketing, law enforcement, property management and finance. Her diverse background brings a lot of support to Presence. Now she helps to supervise and coordinate all the various ministries of the organization and serves as a multimedia coordinator. Outside of work, she enjoys creating evangelical productions in musical and theatrical, reading, writing, going on mission trips, and teaching children Sunday school.
Christine Shen does contract work for Presence as a Content & Communications Specialist. She enjoys spending her time building relationships with family, friends, and going on adventures, or simply curling up with a good book or movie. She currently serves on her church’s Hospitality Team and is leading a small group of young adult women to love the Lord and grow in godly character.
Denise Ho currently does contract work for Presence and oversees all film production projects as RE:NEW’s Multimedia Specialist. She leads worship at her church and volunteers at a small afterschool program in Pomona during her free time.
Elizabeth Hughes graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and a Master of Arts in Christian Ministries and Leadership (with a focus on Women’s Ministries) from Biola University. She recently moved to Sapporo, Japan where her husband teaches English and where she gets to play all day. Jokes aside, her job as RE:NEW’s contractor, Communications Editor, allows her to do what she loves: write, help others write better, and meet interesting people along the way. Her hobbies include reading, exploring Sapporo, learning to cook and learning to rest.
